ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN BY SOS CARE India

SOS economic empowerment programme –07

• Promoting public awareness and publicity with regard to issues affecting the rural artisan and
Needy mothers/women in need.
• Fund raising measures and activities for promoting SOS objectives.
• Where necessary, providing Emergency help to rural artisan and Needy women and
Child in need.
• Providing Emergency help to during and/or after manmade or natural disasters or other Emergencies.
• Serving as an example and information center for innovative artisans, women and childcare Methods.

SOS has initiated an innovative programme named as KALAKRITI-2007 to encourage the under privileged artisan and Needy mothers/women in need. This year SOS wishes to select 5,000 Needy artisan and Needy mothers/women in need across India Specially needy women artisans those who have no social support as well as financial support to stand by them. Basically underprivileged Needy artisan and Needy mothers/women in need have no altered native ideas to maintain their family also they are not able to maintain their family, their Childs. They are showing their inability to educate their children and caring for health and nutrition. Due to this problem they are still behind to bring in a common platform to enhance their economic ability.

To protect this Needy artisan and Needy mothers/women in need from economic and social crisis SOS instigate this KALAKRITI-2007 programme. In this noble episode SOS is trying to extending support to these needy underprivileged Needy artisan and Needy mothers/women in need by providing financial support and providing education, health amenities to their children. With this support SOS starts vocational training for these under privileged women for self-employment. SOS will tie up with financial institutions like SBH, ICICI banks if they are interested to establish micro enterprise or own their businesses. SOS can create atmosphere to work with SOS as a member and provide opportunity in SOS’S exhibition, seminars, and buyer-sellers meet. It is the better opportunity for this deprived artisan to come to a common platform.

SOS Marketing Programme
To support these underprivileged children SOS started marketing of the product made by rural artisans and women entrepreneurs in national and international market .The profit, which will come out of export of items, take advantage of underprivileged Children.

Continuing focused programme of SOS CARE

Rakhi campaign at the time of Raksha Bandhan
Every year SOS CARE organizes campaign named “APNE HAATH BADHAIN” with the support of SOS CARE members, Corporate, Individual sponsors, clubs, Associations. This programme correlates all the needy artisans which aim:

• To provide security to needy artisans with the help of SOS CARE and its associate members.
• To provide moral as well as financial support to poor artisan by corporate and concern Govt Dept.
• Create social responsibility to the school children and relies a value of traditional festival, bond of love, friendship and security

Deepawali Campaign: –
Every year SOS CARE organizes Deepawali campaign named “VIKASH JYOTI PRAKASH JYOTI” to empower needy artisans. Last year in the month of Nov 2005 SOS CARE wished and invited all associate members and needy artisans to share with each other. The main objective is to provide message of prosperity for women Entrepreneurs around the globe and artisans

SOS CARE Newsletter: –
SOS CARE continues an innovative program to provides sponsorship and knowledge to the needy women artisan specially credit links, product market, exhibitions and publicity and rural product.

SOS Membership Campaign (25 Dec to 05 Jan.)
Every year during the period of X-Mass and New Year, SOS CARE organizes door-to-door Campaign named “HAR GHAR HAR ANGAN” from 25 th Dec. to 5 th Jan, which focused the registration of new member in SOS CARE and permanent membership for women Entrepreneurs and artisan.

SOS CARE Annual Seminar on Women Entrepreneurs: –
Every year on 16 th April SOS CARE organizes annual seminar in which SOS CARE invites all the SOS CARE members in different parts of the country and rural artisan. SOS CARE arranges different programs and facilities awards to the selected artisan.

SOS CARE Outreach initiative: –
• Technical Education to Women Entrepreneurs and artisans.
• Workshop in block level.
• Identifying needy and poor artisan.
• Awareness programs for Govt./ Private schemes.
• Training and capacity building program.

SOS CARE Sponsor Programme: –
SOS CARE sponsors number of exhibitions/fairs and other programmes with its own resources. It facilitates artisan by providing placement of stalls in commercial complexes, malls, Schools, call centers, five star hotels, Welfare Association, and cottage emporium1.

SOS CARE Counseling Center: –
SOS CARE has its own counseling center in 407, Skipper Corner, 88, Nehru Place. Where SOS CARE has appointed a member or volunteer to provide necessary information and support of exhibitions, fairs, conferences, product knowledge, availability of the product, trading knowledge to small and micro women entrepreneurs and artisan in different activities.

SOS CARE Banking Network: -
SOS CARE developed a network with numbers of commercial Banks for the promotion of Micro and Small Entrepreneurs. SOS CARE acts as a catalyst for the credit linkages to needy artisan. Last year SOS CARE tied up with 3-4 commercial and development banks like ICICI, Canara, SIDBI, State Bank of Hyderabad for easy banking network.

NGO Network Programme:   
SOS CARE Develops its network with number of NGO’s in all part of the country. SOS CARE basically focused on the NGO working in the same field as SOS CARE. Most of the grass root level NGO’s are in the network of SOS CARE, who believes the progress of women entrepreneurs in our country.

SOS CARE Help Line: –
SOS CARE has developed help line services for the needy women entrepreneurs and needy artisan. All members and artisan avails the opportunity in their need period or critical situation. SOS CARE appointed a volunteer for this noble cause,

SOS CARE Village Conferences: –
With international and regional conference SOS CARE moves towards village level conference. The aim of organize village conference is
• To bridge the gap between rural and urban India.
• To provide basic knowledge about handling conference, concepts, documentation, reporting,expose of products, dealing with different policy.
• Prepare them to sit with international members.

SOS CARE Media Initiative: –
SOS CARE has developed its media innovative programme to display the product manufactured by small and medium entrepreneurs and rural artisan, and objective of media linkage for publicity of the items and transforming domestic items to exports quality items. SOS CARE also publishes success stories of our women entrepreneurs and approach media to publish and telecast for guidance of new entrepreneurs.

SOS CARE Health Program: -
SOS CARE organizes different health programme for women, SOS CARE specially focused on malnutrition, immunization, RCH, HIV AIDs, and other infected diseases among women in rural and slum in India.

SOS CARE Publicity & Resource Mobilization –
SOS CARE publicized its activities and approaches to Govt. Bodies, corporate houses, industries, development agencies, malls, business houses, and individuals. Along with their assistance International donors come forward to raise their hands for the needy artisan.

SOS CARE Team: –
SOS CARE has qualified, well understanding about social cause, well settled, organized team and team members. Team SOS CARE consists of SOS CARE President, Vice President,  Executive Members, National Director, Deputy National Director, Director, Co-workers, Volunteers, Associates members, Sponsor, and Counselors etc.

SOS CARE Disaster Team: –
SOS CARE has its own relief cell, which provides necessary assistance to the women, artisans and women entrepreneurs in their need. Generally it provides financial and moral support during the period of natural disaster and man made crisis.

SOS CARE Rehabilitation Programme: –
SOS CARE rehabilitates to the rural artisan during natural calamities and unforeseen incident. SOS CARE provides moral as well as financial support to the affected artisan.

SOS CARE CSR Programme: -
With the help of Call Center SOS CARE publicizes and displays the product of rural artisan, SOS CARE tries the level best to reach door to door for the publicity and marketing of the rural products.

1. SOS CARE India organized International Women’s day in 8th May 2005
SOS organized walkathon from Jantar Mantar to Ranjit Singh fly over on 8 th may every year on special day of International Women’s day. Women from different parts of the country actively participated. Aim to organize walkathon
• To create awareness on women’s right
• Strengthen incentives to the women living in different sphere.
• Provide basic assistance to bring women in common platform.
• To introduce new scheme for women health and education by central and state Govt.

2. SOS CARE Members participated in IITF-2006
SOS CARE members participated in India-International Trade Fair from 14 th –27 th Nov.2006 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The artisans/women business organizations and individual producers had displayed and sold items like jewelry, ornaments, readymade clothes, herbal products, household equipment’s, gym instruments, and cosmetics etc. Over 120 entrepreneurs participated in this exhibition.

3. SOS CARE organized Rally on Children’s day, 14th Nov 2006.
SOS CARE organized a Rally on Children Day 14 th Nov 06 at Rajpath New Delhi, to create awareness on Child Rights, child issues, and education to the women under new initiatives of FIWE Mother Strength hood Programme. The participants were
1. SOS artisans, members/ Women entrepreneur from different part of country
2. Artisan and their children from Delhi region.
3. Street children’s and their parents from Nizammudin Dargha, railway station, New Delhi
